Summary: This full-time, salaried position is based in our Middlebury plant. The successful applicant must ensure costs are captured accurately as incurred at each stage of production, will participate, understand and explain all plant spending and variances, and will function as an on-site financial resource to plant management.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • • Responsibilities will include generating, analyzing and presenting spending and production measurement summaries, calculating the monthly dairy liquid standard cost of production for the defined plant site, reconciling the monthly FMMA Settlement with adjusting entries, and participating with others to reconcile the Cost / Production / Inventory system to the balance sheet.
  • • Individual must be able to guide future production changes (expansion / reductions, efficiencies / impact) while participating with Operations in conducting capital investment analyses.

Summary: The Quality Assurance Supervisor will work closely with the Quality Assurance Manager to lead the company’s compliance for food safety, quality and customer expectations. Individual will assist in monitoring and enhancing the SQF program as an operating platform; coordinate food safety, sanitation, and quality audit / follow up processes; work with stakeholders to identify gaps and implement robust solutions; and provide technical oversight to plant departmental Managers, Supervisors and work area Leads. This position will work closely with the Quality Assurance Manager to lead and develop the Cabot Lab as a Certified State Lab for Producer Testing and Finished Products. Assist in all aspects of managing the Cabot Lab including regulatory compliance of Good Manufacturing Practices, Food Security, Pest Control, and Weights and Measures SQF. Individual will also assist in leading Cabot’s Manufacturing and Cut & Wrap plants with all third party audits. This position will play a major leadership role in quality and food safety programs for all Manufacturing and Packaging Plant products.

  • • Oversee laboratory tests on raw milk, manufactured products, and plant samples in a timely and accurate manner so as to assure that Agri-Mark’s quality standards are consistently met.
  • • Keep accurate and complete records of all tests performed and report to management any results which do not meet quality standards.
  • • Oversee preparation for certification of Cabot Manufacturing Plant Lab.
  • • Participate in annual split sample program administered by the Department of Agriculture in order to assure continued certification of the laboratory by the State of Vermont.
