CABOT® CREAMERY COOPERATIVE PRESENTS CHAKRA WINDOW TO THE COMPREHENSIVE BREAST CARE & ASESTHETICS INSTITUTE

The Custom-Designed Window Represents Our Land, Healing and Healthful Living

Philadelphia, PA - (May 10, 2007) – May 18 marks the milestone vendor preview celebration of The Comprehensive Breast Care and Aesthetics Institute at DSI of Bucks County, the nation’s first comprehensive breast care institute.

What sets the Breast Institute apart from other hospitals is it’s approach to the diagnosis and healing of breast cancer through the coupling of state-of-the-art medical equipment for the body and complementary therapies including Reiki, hypnotherapy, massage, reflexology and acupuncture to support and heal the human spirit.

The Breast Care Institute’s unique approach to total healthcare grabbed the attention of Cabot Creamery Vice President of Marketing Roberta MacDonald earlier this year when she read a copy of The Healing Consciousness, A Doctor’s Journey To Healing written by Dr. Beth DuPree, chief executive officer and medical director of the Institute.

“I was totally captivated by Beth’s book because it speaks directly to my personal philosophy of life and health and to that of the family farmers who own and operate Cabot Creamery,” MacDonald said. “When we learned that Beth was a driving force behind the new Breast Care Institute, we knew that a Chakra window would be something that would be a wonderful addition to the new facility.

What, one might ask, is the Cabot Chakra window? For starters, it is a one-of-a-kind six-foot tall, three-foot wide stained glass and gemstone window framed in curly maple wood from Vermont, the home of Cabot Creamery. The Cabot Chakra window is based on the philosophy that there are seven energy sites aligned along the spine, starting at the base and ending at the top of the head. Each group of gemstones is arranged in the window to mirror the chakras, or energy centers, of the body.

As Roberta will tell you, “for generations, the farm families who own Cabot have worked the land and forests to make a living, respecting nature’s gifts as well as the tests of the seasons and the wisdom of working in balance with the land. Farming requires an unspoken reverence for nature and for producing a healthy product. The Cabot Chakra window celebrates who we are and what we do with our natural resources. And now, with the opening of The Comprehensive Breast Care Institute, the farmer families who are Cabot want to share the tremendous healing experience this window brings with women in need.”

Dr. DuPree’s multi-disciplined approach to healing women with breast cancer through the latest in western medicine and technology coupled with the sage wisdom and techniques of eastern medicine piqued MacDonald’s interest from the start.

“As I read Beth’s book I realized that ‘she really gets it’ when it comes to women and men coping with breast cancer,” MacDonald says. “Certainly, modern medicine has and continues to make amazing advances in breast cancer treatment. But one can’t dismiss the importance of dealing not only with the body but with the human spirit as well. And that’s why we commissioned Maine artist Laura Fuller to create the stained glass portion of the window and Vermont furniture makers Bruce Beeken and Jeff Parsons of Beeken Parsons Vermont Furniture Makers to create the cheval frame of this magnificent Chakra window for Cabot to present to the Breast Care Institute,” MacDonald said.

The Cabot Chakra window will be unveiled and presented to Dr. DuPree and the Breast Care Institute during a special ceremony at the Institute on Friday, May 18 at 6 pm in the hospital’s main atrium.

" As I sat at my desk my first day of office hours at The Comprehensive Breast Care Center, I opened my email to find a forwarded message from Roberta MacDonald. When I realized that the Cabot family had graciously donated the Chakra window to DSI Bucks County, the tears streamed down my face. I shared the message with my entire staff and they shed tears of joy as well. The window will embrace each and every woman and man that enters The Comprehensive Breast Care Institute. The healing energy of the Window will be experienced by not only the patients and their families, but also by the employees of the hospital. DSI and I would like to thank Roberta and the Cabot family for being a part of our patients’ journey to healing".

ABOUT THE COMPREHENSIVE BREAST CARE & AESTHETICS INSTITUTE AT DSI OF BUCKS COUNTY
The Comprehensive Breast Care & Aesthetics Institute at DSI of Bucks County is a fully accredited and licensed hospital dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer in all stages as well as performing cosmetic procedures. We are an affiliate of Diversified Specialty Institutes, a Nashville, Tennessee-based, for-profit company that operates specialized hospitals and dialysis centers nationwide. Diversified Specialty Institutes, Inc. (DSI), was formed in 2003 to acquire, develop, and/or operate, hospitals that provide inpatient and ambulatory outpatient care to patients needing diagnosis and treatment in selected areas of medicine and surgery. In 2005, DSI expanded its offerings to also include imaging centers, especially those geared towards breast imaging, and dialysis clinics to treat patients with kidney disease. We believe that the most important ingredient for a successful healthcare facility is the quality of the admitting physician staff. The starting point for developing a DSI facility is a collegial relationship with selected premier physicians in a community. The DSI facility developed in that community will only focus on those physicians' specialties. By placing emphasis on specific areas of medicine and surgery, the DSI facility can focus on delivering comprehensive care that carefully coordinates all the disciplines in one setting. Coordinated care streamlines the health delivery process and minimizes the chance of error due to poor communication amongst various members of the medical community caring for a particular patient. Furthermore, because the focus of the Facility is generally limited to one or a few medical and surgical specialties, the clinical staff can be better trained on the care of patients with these selected conditions and requirements. For additional information on The Breast Cancer Institute and DSI, visit the company’s website at www.dsi-corp.com

ABOUT LAURA FULLER
Laura Fuller lives in Maine with her husband, Sonny, her two stepdaughters, Vivian and Harvey, and the ever strong spirit of her lovely daughter, Delaney who was the motivation for the beginning of Fullerglass. She is the angel spirit of the Del-angels and the creative force behind the dragonfly/ butterfly pieces and fairy furniture.

There she studied art history and French at Sorbonne University. She later studied at Portland School of Art (now Maine College of Art). She began incorporating three dimensional objects into her panels while still in school, creating complex two dimensional studies using three dimensional elements balancing geometric, organic, past, present, numina and light. Laura uses found objects in most of her work- antique and new elements: bottles, chandelier prisms, eyeglasses, inkwells, sea glass, dishes, crystals, healing stones as well as other natural and man made elements to create three dimensional still-life narratives.
