CABOT FAMILY HEADQUARTERS HELPS PARENTS INCORPORATE 3ADAY SERVINGS OF DAIRY INTO EVERYDAY LIFE
Cabot, Vt. (November 14, 2006) – To help ensure that families get the recommended three servings of dairy each day, Cabot Cheese has launched Cabot Family Headquarters (www.cabotcheese.com/family-headquarters)—a website devoted to kid- and family-friendly products, recipes, activities, and information. The site debuts Cabot’s new “Big Family” and “Small Family” Survival Kits of pre-selected cheeses designed to supply families with a week’s worth of calcium-rich cheese.
“Parents are being given a lot of information about their children’s health, including recommendations that kids consume three servings of dairy every day,” said Rich Stammer, President & CEO of Cabot. “Our online Family Headquarters site is designed to help parents translate that information into everyday eating habits.”
Cabot Family Headquarters offers parents a comprehensive, one-stop resource for calcium information, family-friendly recipes, fun interactive activities, and convenient online shopping. Cabot Big and Small Family Survival kits include kid-tested favorites including sharp and mild cheddars, Cabot Minis, Cheddar Shake, and Cheddar Slices bundled together for easy one-click shopping.
The site offers recipes for nutritious midweek dinners, easy after-school snacks, and features articles on health and nutrition. This month, Cabot Family Headquarters offers articles about the role of dairy for kids with diabetes, tips for cooking Thanksgiving dinner with the kids, and much more.
Consuming adequate amounts of dairy calcium has been shown to improve bone strength, lower blood pressure, prevent osteoporosis, and help to maintain healthy weight. The Food and Drug Administration, American Academy of Family Physicians, American Academy of Pediatrics, American Dietetic Association, and the National Medical Association all recommend three servings of dairy per day for stronger bones and better health.
