Tour Where it All Began

Cabot Farmers' Annex

At our Visitors Center in Cabot, where we began in 1919, you can join a factory tour, watch talented cheese makers create our award-winning cheddars, and enjoy plenty of samples — all in one of the most scenic spots in America. Our visitors say the drive alone is worth it!

While you're here:

  • Take our guided tour and view our award-winning cheese as it's being made. You'll learn a ton about cheese making, and Cabot's history — not to mention a bit about Vermont agriculture.
  • Following the tour, you're invited to nibble our many varieties of cheeses, including the World's Best Cheddar and Best Flavored Cheddar.
  • Check out the Weekly Specials and also the Cabot Activity Book. Kids, and a lot of adults, love our happy Cabot Critters!

Fan reviews:

"Visited your facility the week of July 16. I was most impressed by the cleanliness, and was enlightened by the informative tour guide. My local store "County Market" in Grove City, Pa. carries your product and I am thrilled I can purchase my favorite cheese and the best Greek yogurt I have ever had. Thank you so much for being a great company and having such a good working co-op of farmers, it really means a lot to me as a consumer."
— Melanie D., Stoneboro, PA

"I have recently visited your factory in Vermont. My family and I went on your tour and loved it. Other tours we had been on were like movies or short videos where you sat in a room and watched the factory at work. Thanks for having a great tour."
— Jennifer G., Canastota, NY

"I was in New England a couple of weeks ago and took your tour. It was very informative. I didn't realize until then that New England was so heavy into diary — I though it was WI. Your tour was excellent — and so was the tasting!! Thank you!"
— Wanda M., High Point ND
