Allison Akins is a 7th generation Cabot Dairy Farmer from Five Mile Farm in Lisbon, NY, where she works on the farm alongside her father, brother, and grandparents. On the farm, Allison oversees the calves from birth to breeding, drives her trusty old dump truck for crop work, and enjoys working side by side with her family. In addition to the 850 milking cows, the Akins’ raise black angus beef cattle, sell sweet corn and make maple syrup. In her spare time, Allison loves to be outdoors, take pictures, and travel to new places!
Allison was an intern with the Cabot marketing department during college, before working for an agriculture finance company following college. Allison eventually returned to the farm, before taking a job on the Cabot Farmers’ Gratitude Grille. Allison grew up volunteering, whether donating blood, coaching youth sports, or traveling to third world countries to support schools and medical clinics. For Allison, promoting volunteerism and spreading gratitude are values close to her heart. She takes great pride in spreading her love of Cabot Cheese and knowledge of all things agriculture to hard-working volunteers!
