Throughout the fall season, we have highlighted the incredible work of volunteers across the country changing their communities for the better. These selfless volunteers were recognized for their good works by the farm families who own Cabot and given a cruise in mid-November. With the help of our partners AARP/Create the Good, Points of Light Hands on Network, and National Cooperative Bank more than 50 volunteers and their guests boarded the ship for a week at sea.@cabotcheese was proud to honor more than 50 selfless #volunteers with a cruise. #RewardVolunteers Click To Tweet
Once aboard Cabot Community Celebrities were given a sash to wear throughout the week. The sash served as a conversation starter for celebrities to speak about how and why they volunteer with all passengers onboard. The cruise is far more than just a week away. It is a place for like-minded souls to come together, grow their networks, find new ways to expand the impact of their efforts and the reach of the organizations they serve.
The farm families who own Cabot often are the first to volunteer in their communities and know firsthand the difference that giving time to help others can make. Every farm in the Cabot Creamery Cooperative has a unique history and story, whether it be a first or fifth generation farm. The collective stories and work ethic of those farms go into every block of award-winning cheese we produce.
Similarly, there is a unique story behind every sash. The motivations for why people volunteer, the organizations they chose to support and the connections that have formed as a result vary, yet they share a common goal: make communities brighter and stronger places to live. As a collective group they are making a powerful and meaningful impact on communities across the country.
The cruise allows these incredible people and the stories behind their volunteerism to come together as one group. It creates a space where networking, brainstorming, and inspiration can flourish. These folks are the true celebrities in America and as a group they are now positioned to inspire others to serve. Read their stories and realize that in a sea of terrible news headlines, there is a ship of good out there and its gaining momentum.
The Cabot Community Celebrities, along with our Reward Volunteers program, and the traveling Cabot Gratitude Grille illustrate the many ways our dairy farm families honor, amplify, and reward those who give time to do good. Even simple acts can lead to big change. We are proud to work with sponsors such as AARP/Create the Good, National Cooperative Bank and the Points of Light’s Hands on Network to celebrate these good people for their good deeds and build networks of help that can last a lifetime.
