Comfort Foods Made Easy
Here we are in the dead of winter. Fall is long gone and spring feels like it may never come. The days are short, dark and cold. If you’re a food lover, you’ve probably found yourself craving comfort food lately. Meals that are warm and hearty and can make your evenings a little more enjoyable.
Maybe it’s a family recipe that has been passed down. Maybe it’s your favorite childhood meal. Maybe you’re tired of seeing nothing but salads and smoothies on Pinterest and you just want something that will fill you up! Whatever the case may be, we can help. Here are a few of our favorite comfort foods – with our own special Cabot twists.
Shrimp & Grits – If you’re from the south, you probably love this combo. Try our Cheddar Grits with BBQ Shrimp for a delicious flavor combo or kick things up a notch with these Spicy Shrimp on Tomato-Cheese Grits.
Pot Pie– Everyone loves a good pot pie. Shake things up by making this chicken and cheddar version with a mashed potato crust or skip the chicken and make a turkey pot pie.
Monkey Bread – Did you grow up eating a sweet version for breakfast on the weekend? Go the savory route this time and try this Cheesy Monkey Bread with dinner.
Mac & Cheese – You can’t go wrong with this classic dish…but you can make it more exciting. Add some roasted veggies for extra flavor or try your favorite recipe with this pepperjack sauce for a little extra kick.
What’s your favorite comfort food?
Challenge yourself to put a fun twist on it next time you make it! Need more ideas?
