To support their mission, the KIND Foundation was established with a goal of fostering kinder and more empathetic communities. As a result, KIND created Empatico, a free online platform that helps teachers of students age 7 – 11 helps teachers connect their classroom with others around the world
A combination of video technology and guided activities is designed to foster meaningful connections between students. Empatico offers creative curriculum resources for teachers. The program helps builds skills in communication, perspective-taking, cooperation, and critical thinking.
When students from different cultures get to know each other and learn together, they can explore their similarities as well as differences and grow together. These encounters foster empathy, curiosity, and kindness in students.
Anyone can take advantage of this unique program that is helping to grow the next generation of global citizens, but Empatico needs your help in spreading the word about their ground-breaking $20 million initiative.
Here’s how you can get involved.
- Tell a teacher. Do you know someone who teaches 7-11 year olds? Invite them to visit Empatico.org to get matched.
- Tell a parent. Know someone with an 7-11-year-old at home? Encourage them to share Empatico with a teacher in their life.
- Spread the word. Forward this email to a friend or help us #SparkEmpathy by sharing on social media.
And don’t forget, when you log your hours with Reward Volunteers you and the organizations you serve become eligible to win cash and prizes from our community-minded sponsors – like KIND!
We’re excited to share that the CoBank Award for $2500 was awarded to a North Carolina Food Pantry!
Fuquay Varina Emergency Food Pantry in North Carolina was the most recent BIG cash winner through our partnership with CoBank. Thanks to one of their volunteers logging time in Reward Volunteers the pantry will now be able to repair the floor in their distribution room. Something they couldn’t have done without the help of CoBank and their dedicated volunteers logging their time!
