The farm families who own Cabot are often the first to volunteer in their communities and Reward Volunteers along with the programs in our Department of Gratitude honor the good work of people changing their communities for the better.
If you haven’t heard, Reward Volunteers is a free easy way to record the time spent volunteering. When you log time and share activity to Facebook you become eligible to win prizes like vacations, gift cards, gift baskets, and much more. The more time logged and the more likes and comments a volunteer receives, the more chances to win one of the major prizes awarded each month.

Organizations can now create accounts to track and report on volunteer hours as well as post volunteer opportunities.
Not only can volunteers win prizes, but so can organizations. This past year saw some pretty cool prizes awarded to non-profits because a volunteer logged time on the organization’s behalf. With our partner CoBank, we have given away thousands of dollars to non-profits, including The Blackstone Heritage Corridor in Connecticut and the Mad River Valley Ambulance Service in Vermont. With our partner Bob’s Discount Furniture, The Center for Family Services in New Jersey was given a $10,000 shopping spree to furnish a home for at risk children.
When looking at the hours logged in Reward Volunteers, if you were to pay minimum wage on those volunteer hours, it adds up to $3.5 million. Though that money isn’t literal, it is a representation of volunteer impact. That’s a big number and is a running tally of so many small acts of good happening across the country.
