If you are one of many who prefers to avoid heating up the kitchen with your oven on a hot summer night, we have a solution for you! Learn to love no bake/ no cook meals. These are healthy meals that can be made quickly and don’t require the use of a hot stove or oven, making them perfect for these hot summer months!

Here are our top tips for selecting and assembling no-cook meals:

Choose shelf-stable proteins!

Salads are a great no cook meal option and make a great base for a variety of proteins. Instead of cooking fresh meat like chicken and steak, choose proteins from the pantry like nuts, beans and canned tuna and then add in fresh veggies from the farmer’s market or CSA. Try this Black Bean Salad or try this Power Salad with Yogurt Dill Dressing and use pre-cooked rotisserie chicken and chickpeas. You can also use Greek yogurt instead of mayo to make a quick tuna salad!

Think dairy!

Smoothie bowls and puddings that are packed with protein from Greek yogurt, milk, kefir or cottage cheese can make a great summertime meal or snack. Try this Green Smoothie Bowl with Avocado or this Cinnamon Raisin Chia Pudding

Keep it simple.

Traditional favorites like sandwiches and snack plates are perfect for nights when you don’t want to cook anything elaborate. Try filling your plate with whole grain crackers, tuna salad, an apple and some Greek yogurt. Or make a cheese board that includes things like nuts, cheese, pickled veggies, crackers, fruit and smoked meats. This Avocado Yogurt Spread would be great on a turkey sandwich! Or try these Famous Cheese Salad Sandwiches.
