The 2020 holidays are upon us, and like families everywhere, Cabot’s farm families are re-imagining how to celebrate this year. Many people who normally travel during the holidays are opting to stay home. And big family events are being scaled down. But don’t worry, there can still be plenty of festive fun to go around.Plan a Zoom baking date or adopt another delicious idea dreamt up by our farmers for keeping things social AND distant this holiday season. To help you create unforgettable holiday moments with friends and family who you might not be seeing in person, our farmers are sharing 5 tips for bringing families together this season. Even better, many tips feature the comforting taste and bold flavor of award-winning Cabot products. Because the holidays should always be delicious!
1. Schedule a Virtual Baking Date:
By now, we’re all used to virtual hangouts, which help bridge the physical distance between us. Since you’re likely dreaming up delicious goodies to make and share this season, why not invite a friend or family member to join you for a Virtual Baking Date? Choose a recipe to share. Then make it together, exchanging tips catching up, and sharing a good laugh. Our loveable Cheddar Popovers with bold Cabot Sharp Cheddar are fun and easy to make, so you can still tell stories while you mix and stir. We also have a fabulous selection of Kid-Friendly Recipes so you can cook with all the young ones in your life.
2. Make Homemade Gifts:
No gift shows the love quite like a homemade goody. Make a batch of our luscious Greek Yogurt Chocolate Chip Cookies, so sweet and creamy, or bake up this decadent Chocolate Sour Cream Brownie Cake, made with Cabot Butter and Sour Cream. Homemade heart shaped crackers are also a perfect gift basket addition! Add a handwritten note for an unforgettable gift.
3. Plan a Virtual Wine/Beer & Cheese Pairing:
Add some adult beverages to your virtual party planning and gather friends and family for some yummy drinks and good times. Our Beer and Wine pairing tips will help you choose the perfect cheesy flavor mate for your favorite craft brews and wines. Or make some of the season’s trendiest Mocktails to sip. Either way, delicious fun awaits.
4. Build Something Fun (and Delicious!):
Whether it’s a gingerbread masterpiece or a trendy new Charcuterie Chalet, it’s fun to get the family involved and work on a project together! A challenging (but fun – and delicious) project is perfect for some family bonding.
5. Story Time:
It’s been hard on so many families to lose in-person contact and the little moments that come with it. If your kiddos are missing story time with grandma and grandpa, or an aunt or uncle, this one’s for you. Bust out your favorite books and have a virtual story time link up. Just seeing our loved one’s faces and hearing the sound of their voice creates connection and reminds us that we’re not as far apart as we sometimes feel. And nothing beats a good book.
Finally, we’re excited to share a Random Acts of Cheddar giveaway.
