Your favorite dark beer is the secret ingredient that makes our cheddary 5-Point Spread such a crowd-pleaser. Use extra sharp cheddar or even a flavored cheese, like our Horseradish Cheddar, for even more hearty flavor.
8 ounces Cabot Sharp Cheddar, Cabot Extra Sharp Cheddar or Cabot Horseradish Cheddar, grated (about 2 cups)
4 ounces Cabot Premium Cream Cheese
⅓ cup dark beer
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
Large pinch cayenne pepper
Classic or Supreme flavored Pretzel Crisps, bread or crackers
COMBINE first five ingredients in food processor or blender; process until smooth and creamy.
SERVE with Classic or Supreme flavored Pretzel Crisps, bread or crackers.
This recipe takes seconds to make in a blender. I just cut Seriously Sharp (it's the best!) and toss the cheese chunks into the blender with the cream cheese and beer, no need to "shred" the cheese.
