I made this before reading it here as part of my weight loss diet. I don’t even have to use the vanilla yogurt because plain will also do. Maple syrup blends beautifully with cocoa, giving it a smooth consistency and not competing for flavor. Sometimes I rub a little granule or two of instant coffee into it for a more sophisticated flavor. I do not eat it with the pretzel chips, as they won’t do for weight loss, but I can see how it can be a fun sweet and salty/crunchy and creamy snack for children!
I was looking for a quick sweet dessert and always have powdered chocolate handy. This fit the bill!
Tastes just like the other chocolate puddings, this one is truly "instant" just mix and eat, no waiting unlike the "instant" mixes that make you wait an hour or so.
Even better is that any variety of sweetener works equally well. I have tried stevia, sucralose and more and it always tastes great.
What a terrific idea for a last-minute dessert!!! Can't go wrong with chocolate……anything!!
Works great with a mashed banana substituted for the syrup. A little Trader Joe's Alcohol Free Vanilla adds a nice touch.
