1 tablespoon Cabot Salted Butter or Cabot Unsalted Butter
2 slices of your favorite bread
2 ounces Cabot Sharp Cheddar, grated (about ½ cup)

HEAT the butter in a skillet or grill until melted and good and hot.
PLACE both slices of the bread in the pan or on the griddle. Add the cheese to one of the slices and top with the other slice. Cook over medium heat until the bottom is lightly browned then carefully flip to the other side. When both sides are golden brown and the cheese has melted remove from the pan and let cool.
USE a sharp knife and cut into small squares (about ½ inch), when the sandwich has cooled completely. Use as croutons for salad, soup garnish or snacks.
Try these with our Creamy Walleye Stew.
What a great idea! When I first viewed the animated soup picture in the email, I had a “wait, is that cheese in the croutons?” moment & scrolled back up, then immediately clicked on the recipe. When I saw it was basically a cut up grilled cheese sandwich, l had a “slap myself in the head, why didn’t I think of that” reaction. Made some with the Cabot Seriously Sharp Cheddar I picked up earlier this week. DELICIOUS! Just goes to show you CAN teach an old gal new tricks. Thanks.
