For this simple cheese board, you’ll need plenty of cheese: 2-3 bars of Cabot Sharp Cheddar plus assorted flavors of Cabot Cheddar, such as Cabot Smoky Bacon Cheddar, Cabot Tomato Basil Cheddar, and others provided at the end of this post.
You’ll also want to select a variety of accompaniments to serve alongside the various cheeses. Fresh and/or dried fruits (e.g. figs, pears, and cherries), crunchy nuts, pickles, and cured meats (e.g. pepperoni, salami, and prosciutto) are great options. Also be sure to offer a selection of breads, such as sliced baguette, bread sticks, and crackers in different shapes and sizes.
Remove all of the cheese from the refrigerator an hour before you plan on serving to bring to room temperature. Place the cheese on your cheese board and surround the piles of cheese with the contrasting flavors and textures of your various accompaniments (e.g. fruits, nuts, meats, etc.), as well as an assortment of breads and/or crackers.
